Rodrigo Rosa is the Special Advisor to the C40 Chair and the executive representative of the City of Rio de Janeiro in the C40 Climate Leadership Group. He represents the Chair in situations when Mayor Paes cannot participate himself.

Since 2009, Rodrigo has been serving as Special Advisor to the Mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes, on sustainability and innovation policies. Currently he leads the strategic initiatives in the Office of the Mayor, which include the Rio Low Carbon City Development Program, a partnership between the City of Rio and World Bank, as well as climate change and resilience actions. Rodrigo also leads strategic international relations partnerships for the City of Rio.

In 2010, Mr. Rosa was responsible in the Municipality to organize the United Nations Sustainable Development Summit Rio+20 as well as the GRI Report (Global Reporting Initiative) amongst other activities. Mr. Rosa was also responsible for the development of Rio Resilient initiative and was a collaborator of the Municipal Legislation on Climate Change, adopted in 2011 by City Council.

Starting his career as a business journalist and economic analyst for major newspapers in Brazil, Rodrigo Rosa also worked as a legislative consultant in Congress prior to his work at Rio de Janeiro City Hall.

He is currently a PhD student in environmental planning at Coppe University and holds a Master in Economics of Public Sector and a Bachelor degree in Journalism at the University of Brasilia and a Master Business Executive in Environmental Management at the University of Rio de Janeiro.
